In 2002, Rick earned international recognition as one of the best sleight-of-hand magicians placing first runner up at MacMillian's International Magic Convention in London. Rick outperformed 23 other contestants from Belgium, Holland, England, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Slovenia, and the Netherlands.
